Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mathbound (the "Service") operated by Mathbound. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or a parent or legal guardian must create the account for a child. If you are under 13, your parent or guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf. By registering, you represent that this requirement is met.

3. Accounts & progress

You may browse as a guest; limited progress may be kept for the current browser session. When you sign in, progress is saved in your browser on this device. In the current release without cloud accounts, signup does not create a server-side account — see our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for activity on your device and browser profile. Notify us at mathboundhelp@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Premium & promotions

Premium features are offered via paid plans (currently $4.99/month at launch). A priority waitlist is available while billing is finalized. Features, pricing, and promotions may change. See Pricing for current offers. You may cancel Premium access from Account.

5. Acceptable use

• Use the Service for personal learning and contest preparation.
• Do not scrape, copy, or redistribute content for commercial use.
• Do not harass users, post unlawful content, or attempt to break security.
• Do not misrepresent affiliation with MAA, College Board, or other exam sponsors.

6. Educational content & disclaimers

Problems and explanations are for learning. Mathbound is not affiliated with the Mathematical Association of America, College Board, ACT, or other official exam bodies. Official materials remain the property of their owners. We do not guarantee scores, qualifications, or exam outcomes.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, design, and original problem banks, is owned by Mathbound or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You retain rights in content you submit; you grant us a license to host and process it to operate the Service.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by nature should survive will survive termination.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Mathbound AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mathbound from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to exclusive jurisdiction in Delaware courts for disputes not subject to arbitration. Where prohibited by local law, mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence remain unaffected.

13. Changes

We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be posted with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
